CASE STUDY
SUMMITS
FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Project Details
In October 2010, the NWBC and the SBA hosted three conferences throughout the country with hundreds of attendees each. One of these conferences was hosted at the White House. The conferences focused on women entrepreneurs and were designed to capture their voices and experiences, and to generate recommendations at the grassroots level for the ultimate consideration of the President, Congress and the SBA. The event included key representatives of the NWBC, as well as local, state and federal representatives such as SBA Deputy Administrator Marie Johns and Tina Tchen, Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement.
How We Supported The Vision
Occasions, Inc. had just a few short weeks to secure venues. Additionally, the event dates coincided with other large events in the city, meaning that venues capable of holding such a large group on the client’s preferred date were few and far between. Nonetheless, within two weeks, OI personnel were able to locate and contract the required space, meeting the client’s requirement and staying under budget.
In addition to venue management, OI offered logistical support, program and budget management, audiovisual support, pre-event and onsite registration, website design per 508(a) compliance regulations, menu and catering arrangements, decor and equipment rental, brand management, collateral development, summary reports and transcription, travel management, and onsite oversight.
Thanks to OI personnel’s knowledge of the field and comprehensive support, OI was able to mitigate obstacles and ensure a successful, seamless event.
